Your mouse is essentially useless in the text area of the document. I can close outlook or word and then open it back up and it will work for a while and then it will stop working for no reason. i would not have been able to ever dream up a solution like this and it totally worked. I can't click or highlight anywhere in a document or use the scroll bar. If you are simply using Office 2007 and this happens in Word, the steps in the link will fix the problem. Mostly this has been seen with Word 2007 after an updatae (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940791), but the cause in Word 2003 is probably similar -- damage to a registry key that Word uses.
