Monitor Power Settings Not Working Xp
I've had my share of problems with Windows 7, but I still use it regularly along with my MacBook Pro. On my computer the issue is described below: I installed Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. Even me waiting for the same solution. Please help.

The advanced settings will override the power plan and therefore you might have something set there, but it won't work because of what is set in advanced power options. You might think this type of thing could be fixed by a computer company after the problem with the power management part of the O/S going on for over a year. The PSS representative's reference to the PowerCfg subkey and a little digging helped me come up with a solution. One day, Standby stopped working - would not activate - so I went into Power Mgmt and selected hibernation and it worked fine for a few days. I transferred my settings and documents and for now I'm done.
